Los Angeles Ink Stains

-
This is a pretty random comic book I picked up a while back. Lost Angeles Ink Stains, although I do not know much about the author / artists who have created the publication, but instantly the style of design direction draws me in. Black & white with an illusive mess of a layout, each page being carefully hand-drawn, or combined with digital methods of design. It's always nice to see people making what they want to make. No restriction but their own.

Comic - Jim Jarmusch Posters / Tests

-
Scanned in the posters me and Mooney have been working on and began to mess around on photoshop to see how I can increase the visual impact of the pieces of work we have done. This probably not the approach we're going to take, but it's part of the development of the brief.

FMP - Defined SOI

-
Defined SOI. As most of my projects have changed, I had to re-write the SOI in order for it work with what I am working on throughout each of my briefs.

FMP - Defined Briefs

-
Defined and edited briefs for the FMP. I needed to go through these and make sure they make sense, otherwise my project work won't relate to the aims and intentions of the brief.

Mike Giant - Handstyle History

-
Mike Giant is pretty much a don in the Graffiti world and also illustration, as he has applied his work to a brand called Rebel 8. Something which I need to consider with my own work. In this video he shows a number of different handstyle's and their history of origin. Important to consider when being involved within the underground culture of Graffiti.

Comic- Stranger Than Paradise Sketch

-
Finally got the ball rolling with my collaboration with Mooney. Already I know we can work effectively enough together to create a successful project, as we both seem to understand how the overall design and tone of the comic will be approached. Looking at existing films and adapting them into a different piece of visual work. This will allow us to work with content that already exists rather than spending too much time generating our own.

Kevin Tong Illustration

-
Detailed and contained illustration by Kevin Tong. What I find particularly interesting is his image application and content driven production towards his craft. The cover is interesting and strangely abstract, using human form built into rocks.
